Current prayer requests:
Slovakia/Czech Republic:
- Oto Horvath – as we come to agreement on how we can work together
- Counseled Oto, language teacher turned evangelist who has been very active in reaching out to neighboring Roma villages, re: how to proceed with ministry together
- There have been an increasing frequency of violent attacks on minorities (Roma, dark-skinned persons, and foreigners)
- For ministry partners as we continue to reach out to the Roma community with the Gospel
- Praise for a wonderful report of how God is growing the outreach of the mission in Cinobana
- For Robert, director of Bethel Ministries in Czech Republic, and his co-workers;
- Praise for new Roma coworker and outreach
- For Rene, a Rom brother in the Czech Republic, as he returns to school
Hungary and surrounding areas:
- Continue to pray for the Gandhi School Choir. Establishing this choir program is like taking two steps forward and one step back (see Stories & Pictures).
- Pray for student Josi, a senior who was recently kicked out of Gandhi. Pray that if given the opportunity that he will return to school somewhere and finish his degree. He made a bad mistake but he has great potential.
- Please pray for Glen & Clista Adkins as they try to learn Hungarian.
- Please pray for Erika, the principal at Gandhi. She has a very difficult job—managing faculty, writing grants, looking for money (travel), teaching many classes, and trying to encourage morale—in three languages. She is also a widow with four teen and pre-teen sons at home.
- Please pray for Glen as he tries to figure out how to take a number of the Gandhi choir members to Leipzig to the BWA Youth Conference this summer.
- Pray for Tibor and wife Natasha. They have led the Szatmarcseke mission for several years and are experiencing burnout. Last November culminated in the completion of a room addition at their house for worship and all the work leading up to that has left them depleted.
- Ralph Stocks’ father, recently diagnosed with cancer.
Project Ruth and Gypsy Smith School, Budapest, Romania:
- Gheorghe Gita, a pastor in Craiova, Romania and close partner of Project Ruth recently had brain surgery to remove a tumor. Please pray for him and his family during this time of unpredictable recovery.
- For up-coming session at the Gypsy Smith School for Romany pastors and church leaders, March 31 - April 4, 2008
